Despre Tony, eu speram sa aibe doar o conjuctivita obisnuita.
.
English Translation:
Remember Tony? A month ago a dentist doctor called us to tell us about the three baby cats abandoned in a box near a church. I initially refused to tack them into custody because of lack of space
. Then over night I thought a plane, I talked to Ildi and together we took them into custody. I took the male because I knew that he had an eye problem. Ildi took the two healthy sisters. Now the two sisters were adopted already.
I was hopeing Tony had just a regular conjunctivitis. When I saw him … I went straight to the doctor. His eyes were red, flesh appearance. However he was lively and playful. The doctor’s verdict was severe corneal infection, both eyes ulcerated, with minimal chances to ever seeing anything!
Antibiotics treatment prescribed daily injections of long-term.
The plan was simple. Walk to work, break ran home, took the little one, ran to the doctor and then back home to work again. In addition to daily injections at one point doctors sewed his eyes as tears wash the infected site, which features a powerful antiseptic and beneficial role (miraculously, after expressing Dr).
After two weeks with eyes sewn, the result was great. Already and doctors became more optimistic. From hopeing that they will not remove the eyes, I started to become rude and hopefully, hopeing that he will be able to see at least partially.
Now after a month of antibiotics we are in a period of pause. In vain he will see if we destroy the kidneys with antibiotics. Now we are on Corneoregel gel treatment. This is only for corneal regeneration. The results are wonderful. Now he is obviouslly distinguishing shapes, moving faster than any little cat at his age, jumps, beating with my big cats, attack them on the tail, climb up the sisal on 3 levels , climb on furniture, jump off the furniture … so … definitely he is seeing. How well he sees is irrelevant. He sees quite well in order to handle in a safe environment. Unfortunately, his chances of survival are minimal in the open. Tony’s future is still in the house.
Although he was probably born blind (that infection occurred before the eyes open, and would have been treated decently from the start … but of course … it was more convenient to throw them out), Tony has adapted perfectly to his condition . It required no special treatment compared to the other baby cats that were temporarily in custody.
Now we expect will continue treatment and doctor’s OK for us to start looking for a home of our own. Not that we do not like here, but here its better to have room for other little kitties with problems.
